@camewithbear: New in LA | A Nobu-Alum Chef & Japanese-Inspired Cocktails Just opened in West Hollywood! Little Luck has transformed a nightclub that operated for 13 years into a beautiful modern Japanese izakaya. It’s the latest concept from LA’s Hwood Group, with chef Erik Idos, who previously worked at Nobu and Jean-Georges. Inspired by LA’s Asian fusion dining scene in the early 2000s, the restaurant brings together Japanese-inspired food, creative cocktails, and nightlife. The interior is seriously gorgeous! Light wood, warm lighting, Japanese lanterns, bonsai trees, aquariums, and cozy semi-private booths. Every corner has its own little design details. One of the coolest features is the wall of around 4,000 vinyl records behind the bar, plus a dedicated DJ booth! The cocktail program is designed by Kevin Lee of Tokyo Noir, using Japanese ingredients and creative techniques. We tried One Summer’s Day, made with Japanese strawberry gin, fermented tomato, basil, dashi, and yuzu. It’s clarified until crystal clear and served over a large ice sphere. There are also two private karaoke rooms! One has a circular ceiling decorated with the twelve Earthly Branches from the traditional East Asian zodiac. For food, we ordered the Japanese egg salad with milk bread, A5 wagyu tataki clay pot rice, and garlic lobster noodles. You can even spot rows of little clay pots in the open kitchen!
