@ultrabasicmetamafic: Happy Fossil Friday! We are back at Dinosaur Ridge exploring not only therapod tracks, but also dinosaur bones in the Morrison Formation. The Morrison Formation represents fluvial deposition, meaning that the rocks have preserved evidence that shows us there was a lot of river activity. Some of the dinosaur bones found in the Morrison have been beaten up by transportation in a river, other bones have been beautifully preserved in the point bar areas of the river system, where deposition happens. Rocks are SO COOL!! - #rocks #geology #dinosaur #fossil #paleontology
