Ya I’m completely on lesbianlifts side. Some non binary people need to realize just cause they are trans doesn’t mean they can’t cause harm to the rest of the trans community with their language. The fact that a cis person realized that just means she is more conscious of how language affects people.

I follow her and she reposted a tiktok where a cis creator was degendering a trans man that she was (admittedly, rightfully) criticizing, which honestly took me aback. she's usually pretty good at being an ally imo, but yeah, whenever a trans person rubs her the wrong way (especially afab & enby ppl for some reason??) it feels like she takes it very personally, like being an ally should mean she gets to be right. I don't think she means to bufmt with a platform her size it really does matter

I recognize that my opinions on the use of AGAB are not extremely popular. I have written an entire essay on the topic. I do not think how ever that a cis gender woman gets to dictate to me how I describe my identity. I agree with lesbian lifts on many issues and she has made some good videos on trans people. She does how ever seem to lack the capacity to receive criticism from trans people who do not agree with her.

well no they said lets not call transgender people by their agab and someone came in with like the one experience needed and they even said so in the screenshots that this is not about medical providers but simply just referring to transgender ppl by their agab as a whole, and said person continued pushing this, it is really weird to go "well erm actually" to a factual truth

"Theyfab" is used to refer to people who mention that they are AFAB often. It is not invoking their ASAB unnecessarily, it is criticising THEM for invoking their ASAB.

tbh i had a weird experience with that commenter under one of my vids where i talked about binary trans people and said i tread lightly when doing so because as a gender apathetic nb person i don't rly care about how my gender is perceived so i find it a bit distasteful to weigh in on that when it comes to others. they kinda implied that agab should supersede that which i didn't like so i think they might just be a bit of a weirdo, i thought lesbianlifts was spot on

I think that a *lot* of the discourse regarding agab boils down to people noting that their sex is still very relevant to their life, but using agab as a stand-in for sex instead of just owning that. Agab does not inherently communicate what gender someone is perceived as, what genitals they have, what gender they were raised as, what their legal sex is, or rly anything beyond which box a doctor ticked when you were a baby. And it also ends up making it really hard for intersex ppl to use agab in the way it was originally meant for!

I agree with her sentiment but it didn't need to be posted to twitter. Theres also likely miscommunication going on. Does LL mean dont use ASAB unless its relevant or brought up by the trans person? Or do they mean ever? And the comment is, again, talking about a medical context. I think you cant assume a general statement by someone who talks about social issues is also about medical stuff.

I've been using them/them pronouns for years at this point, I don't like gender labels because I just feel like myself, but I'm still comfortable with the fact that I'm a biological woman. I have all the prices and parts, I love traditionally feminine things, I have medical things that are because of my sex. just because I don't identify as a woman, doesn't change how important my biological sex is. I'm also completely fine being grouped in with women, because I have the body and up bringing of one. while I'm not a woman, I still identify with a lot of those things, and that doesn't change my gender because no one else gets a damn say
