🐴💔 PLEASE STOP FOR A MOMENT AND LOOK AT THE HORSES. Look into their eyes. Look at their thin bodies, tired legs, wounds and bruises, and the marks left by harnesses, ropes and heavy loads. These beautiful, sensitive animals were not born to spend their lives being beaten, overworked and forced to pull heavy carts or carry people when their bodies are exhausted. Imagine being so tired that every step hurts, yet having no choice but to keep walking. Imagine a heavy cart attached to your body while someone behind you shouts, whips or strikes you because you are not moving quickly enough. Imagine being frightened and exhausted, but unable to say, “Please, I cannot do this anymore.” 💔 And then think about the bit inside a horse’s mouth. That metal piece can cause pain and pressure in one of the most sensitive parts of the body. When the reins are pulled or jerked, the pressure is felt through the mouth and tongue, forcing the horse to turn, stop or move in the direction demanded. Imagine having metal in your mouth and someone suddenly pulling on it to control your head. These animals feel pain. They feel fear. They become exhausted. They can suffer from injuries, hunger, dehydration and neglect. Yet their suffering can become invisible simply because people are accustomed to seeing horses pulling carts or carrying riders. But being accustomed to suffering does not make suffering acceptable. Before paying for a horse ride or supporting an animal being forced to work, please stop and ask yourself: Does this horse really need to carry me? Is it healthy enough? Is it being treated with kindness? Is it receiving food, water, rest and proper care? If not, please don’t support it. 🙏🐴 We should teach our children that animals are not machines, vehicles or entertainment. They are living beings who feel pain, fear, comfort and love. Please read Black Beauty and remember the lesson of kindness it carries. 📖🐴❤️And please, let us stop for a moment and pray. 🙏 Pray for the horses suffering today. Pray for those standing exhausted in the heat, waiting to be worked again. Pray for the injured ones whose pain has gone unnoticed.
