Vantage Data Centers' Trident project would be a two-story, 1.5 million-square-foot data center on 108 acres at E-470 and East 48th Avenue in Aurora, near Green Valley Ranch neighborhoods including The Reserve, a 55-plus community. The land is zoned industrial, so the city can approve it administratively without a public hearing. The city says it's working with Vantage to schedule a community meeting, and Mayor Mike Coffman says he'll call the project up for a council vote and ask his colleagues to vote no. Vantage has asked for 90 days to look at other sites. The council votes Monday on an indefinite data center moratorium, but it wouldn't apply to Trident, which applied in 2025. 2. Denver Councilmember Chris Hinds says Veo's own data logged more than 338,000 sidewalk-riding events in its first two months. A July 1 law change made scooter and bike operators responsible for stopping it. After a City Attorney review, the city says Veo isn't complying with parts of its contract and city ordinances, and enforcement begins Nov. 1. Veo says it will start fining riders for sidewalk riding, add parking corrals and improve its sidewalk-detection technology. 3. The 32nd annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races are Saturday, Oct. 24, on Manitou Avenue in downtown Manitou Springs, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The race happens every year the weekend before Halloween. Aurora already agreed to a tax incentive deal for this project worth up to $39 million. But cities in Colorado seem to be struggling on how to figure out how to deal with data centers, considering that there are very few rules governing them right now here.

QTS data center is already out there on E 470 and I 70 that thing is massive. 177 MW facility data center that’s only going to employ 87 employees full-time when it’s fully operational.

There needs to be common sense when it comes to the scooters and sidewalks first of all the scooters cannot properly detect if you’re on the sidewalk or the street when you’re in downtown near large buildings secondly, the city has designed the system to where you’re supposed to ride the scooters on sidewalks in certain situations. And if Vio tries to hit me with a fine, that’s an immediate charge back on my credit card. The company can take the hit not the consumer.

Look Veo should have a low speed lock for sidewalks and a higher speed ability for streets if wanting to ride in the street. I’ve almost been hit riding in the street and I hate it! Only rode once bc not being able to ride on sidewalks is ridiculous

If City Hall wants to enforce people using the e-bikes and e-scooters to stay on the road rather than the sidewalk then they need to put Bike / Scooter lanes on EVERY road in Denver so users can feel safe enough to be on the roads.
