I pass that area everyday & literally slow down at the crossing area cuz folks be blowing through on e-scooters, e-bikes, regular bikes, jogging. Some people really don’t stop and check for cars. All ages!

There needs to be a mandatory video before purchasing a e-scooter or e-bike or have an e-license. Taking an IN PERSON test. At this point there are too many accidents

this is pretty unfortunate and I pray for people on both sides because I live in El cerrito and it has been several times where I have almost hit a child on one of those scooters due to them not paying attention not stopping at stop signs or red lights and just crossing out in front of cars instead of stopping in any kind of way shape or form is if they are made of metal and did I not include flying like a bat out of hell

visibility is much worse for drivers coming from san pablo, due to private fencing and the bart. it’s impossible to see someone on a bike or scooter until you’re right at the path. and vice versa. there are many ways el cerrito could make this dangerous crossing more safe.

I literally had a child on an e-scooter ride between me and another car two days ago in el Cerrito. They did have a helmet on, but I thought it was insane this little kid was trying to ride with traffic. They had to be a middle schooler. I can attest though - those stop signs don’t stop anyone on the e bikes! They fly past the bart station

I always slow down and look both ways at the ohlone greenway even though there is no signage to do so. too many entitled bicyclists who blast through the intersection without a care in the world!!!!

It’s time to ban e-scooters. I fell off going 15mph and ended up cracking my skull with my jaw. After emergency surgery, my jaw was wired shut for 2 months.
