This is my mashed potatoes burn from when i worked as a line cook at olive garden. We microwaved them in white cups with plastic lids, someone reached above me to take it out of the microwave and grabbed it by the lid. It fell onto my arm. it STICKS to you and continues burning. i’m so sorry you went through this! yours seems much worse too.

You poor thing, I’m so sorry! I definitely can understand how it happened! Those mashed potatoes is what my sister uses, they’re so good but getting them out can be dangerous! The steam when taking off the plastic is so hot, I’ve burnt myself from not paying attention when taking it off!

As someone who had a bad accident with fire before, listen to EVERY word the burn clinic says. I got 3rd degree burns on my ankle and top of my foot, listened to what they said, and have full mobility and a nicely healed scar in just half a year!

I knew it would be the mashed potatoes. They are so innocuous… they invisibly get the temperature of molten lava and then turn into GLUE when they hit your skin. I’m so sorry!!!! That’s so awful 🥺
