@scriptinmotion: Leatherface’s iconic chainsaw dance at the end of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) has become one of the most unforgettable images in horror cinema, bringing the film to a close with a terrifying and bizarre climax. The scene serves as a disturbing expression of rage and frustration as Sally manages to escape. Interestingly, in the DVD audio commentary, actor Gunnar Hansen revealed that the dance had originally been planned for an earlier scene. In the screenplay, following Franklin’s death, as Sally flees Leatherface and runs toward the gas station, the killer was supposed to stop at the corner of the building and begin dancing and twirling his chainsaw, expressing his frustration. Director Tobe Hooper, however, ultimately cut the scene to preserve the suspense and avoid revealing Leatherface’s connection to the Sawyer family too early.
