Just like humans, dogs benefit from consistent physical activity, but exercise must be introduced gradually and adjusted to each dog’s age, health, and fitness level. I can split the sessions into shorter periods throughout the day rather than pushing him for too long at once. Remember, consistency is more important than intensity. Always supervise your dog on the treadmill, start slowly, and stop if you notice limping, unusual fatigue, or difficulty breathing. I’m also paying attention to his feeding routine because weight management is about balancing nutrition with activity, not exercise alone.
