Btw why does mgk's voice sound extra nice here? 📝: mgk joined Chef Michael Symon for a live cooking demonstration presented by Bosch Home Appliances at the New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYC WFF) at South Street Seaport in New York City on October 18, 2026. During a live cooking show making a lobster grilled cheese sandwich, mgk dubbed himself “Chef Machine,” declaring, “For the next 10 minutes my name is Chef Machine.” When Chef Michael Symon told him to “Dump the shallots,” mgk asked what shallots were, confusing them with scallops. “What are shallots? Are they from the sea?” he asked. After Symon explained that “Shallots are like a fancy onion,” mgk followed up with, “What’s the thing that’s from the sea?” prompting the audience to answer, “Scallops.” When Symon mentioned celery, however, mgk confidently responded, “I know that vegetable.” Asked to sprinkle some salt, mgk joked, “Don’t worry, I’ve shaken 800 hands today. This is some extra seasoning.” While picking up a piece of lobster meat, mgk also made a reference to Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, saying, “Once upon a time, this guy had a really good song in the movie. That’s actually sad.” When Symon complimented his cooking skills by telling him, “You’re a natural,” mgk replied, “Don’t patronize me, dude. I know I’m only here because I’m famous. I know that my talent is in the kitchen....” Symon then brought up mgk’s restaurant, Shooters Cleveland (@Shooters ), saying, “But you have a restaurant now. You got Shooters in the Flats.” mgk responded, “But I don’t cook ’cause if I did, we’d be out of business yesterday. But I’m a foodie.
