I’m so glad you’re speaking up about this. As Cambodians, we’ve experienced this so many times. We do understand the cultural similarities between neighboring countries, but that’s not the issue at all. They always try to manipulate information online, create confusion, and claim that our heritage is theirs. They even claim Angkor Wat, a monument physically located in Cambodia, as their own, let alone our clothing and traditional dances. But as Cambodians, we have a very limited presence on social media, so our frustration can’t really reach the rest of the world.

It's bittersweet to see dishes like ‘Ohn No Khao Swè’ become globally recognized as Thai food (khao soi), even though they originated in Myanmar. The same goes for Thanaka, which has become heavily integrated into the Thai cosmetics market.

LOUDER SISTER! as a Lanna (Northern Thai) gurly myself, this trailer shooketh me and not in a good way. I honestly thought that Lanna culture would be presented on a big screen for once, but Noo~ they (Gmmtv) had the audacity and unrightfully use Myanmar’s culture without giving them the credits. And yes, northern Thailand used to be a part of Myanmar and the culturally similarities between the countries would be there and here, but this is straight up mixing and matching to turn it into the “Lanna aesthetic”. This part hurt my soul, I’m a proud Lanna and would never hate my own regional dress, but I guess it wasn’t marketable or valuable for the Gmmtv to showcase to the world? Please continue speaking and spreading this information, GMMTV needs to take accountability and give a statement! 🌹❤️

and the thing is they can't even match the timeline.They use the clothes from kongbaung dynasty which was created in 1752.And the timeline of that movie is set on Lanna Kingdom which is in 13th century

What we Thailand are multicultural countries, Lanna are the northern kingdom which are not majority of people’s root and that’s the reason why most people don’t recognize it super accurately to the tea.
