EP.25 | The Child They Threw Away 🌍Two Birds, One Stone Udeh walks into a dim bedroom where Oluchi sleeps on top of the covers, with no blanket, Three witches wait around the bed. He tells them it is done and Adaeze is locked up. They smile and say they will “take down two birds with one stone.” Udeh asks sharply whether they mean to kill the child too. They say no, the child is not for killing. They will extract the Flame from Adaeze, and she will die. Then, with all that power, they will take control of the whole community. The Chief thinks they are helping him, but once the family bond with the Flame is broken he will be nothing and will bow before them like everyone else. They order Udeh to stay and let no one in, then sweep out. Alone with the sleeping child, His hands shake. He paces and asks himself what he has done. He had believed the witches would only help to break the bond, but they cannot be ruled by witches. He knows that stopping them or telling anyone would get him killed. Still, he decides he might be able to rescue Adaeze while the witches are at the hall. He runs out. At the cells he stops short against an invisible wall and cannot get any closer to the door. The three witches appear behind him. The first says sweetly, “Trying to rescue your friend? Oh, my bad. I meant, the woman you betrayed.” Udeh begs them not to do this. With a flick of one finger, she throws him across the corridor into the wall. The cell door swings open on its own. Adaeze rises from the floor as the witches spread out around her. The first witch gives a wicked smile and says, “Hello, Adaeze.” Adaeze goes pale with shock and fear. #foryoupage #fyp #foryou #anime #tiktok - @ssm_animmelodies
