But behind the grand portraits of the imperial family was a story of heartbreak, rivalry, and dynastic ambition. Only ten of the sixteen reached adulthood. Her youngest famous daughter became Marie Antoinette. Born Maria Antonia in 1755, she married the future Louis XVI of France. She eventually became queen of France and was executed by guillotine during the French Revolution in 1793. She eventually had 56 grandchildren.
