You lie about Kalabari. Mention one Kalabari community that speaks Igbo. There is no single Kalabari community that speaks Igbo.

Igbos never influence our language what we Ogba people speak is the language our ancestors have been speaking from time immemorial the very things that makes Ikwerre,Etche, Ekpeye and Ndoki people my brothers and sisters as an Ogba man which is similarities in culture and traditions is the same thing that makes those from Igbo hinterland my brothers and sisters we in River State can continue to run round the circle but we can't run away from our shadows. you may have contrary view but this is my humble opinion.

The other tribes were marginalised and forced to change their names to igbo name during Eastern Region as a qualification to register in school. South South Region is not Igbo. Niger Delta is NOT Igbo. Iwhuruohna (Ikwerre) is NOT Igbo.

Rivers was part of old eastern region dominated by the Igbo,s.The Igbo language was compulsory even in schools, so I guess dat also contributed to d Igbo speaking by other tribes in Rivers State.

Etche, Omuma, Oyigbo, and Egbema/Ndoni are core Igbo communities that share boundaries with neighbouring Igbo states. They observe the four Igbo market days and practise Igbo customs and traditions, including traditional Igbo titles. However, I can’t say the same for your Ibani and Bonny communities. The rest are core Igbo communities.

Every community in Rivers state that speak Igbo have their own story. Places like Etche, Omuma, Ikwerre, Ndoni, Ogba and Ndoki are currently speaking their original language which is some form of Igbo but people like Opobo/Bonny and some parts of Okrika are the ones that are not 100 percent Igbos. They are an ad mixture of Ijaws and Igbos but Igbo just happens to be their lingua franca.

The history of Rivers State is complicated. As an Ikwerre person, I’m still researching our history, and I don’t want to make claims I cannot defend. The Civil War, political marginalization, and crude oil all played roles in shaping our identities. Yes, we share cultural similarities with Igbo people, but some of us maintain distinct identities and historical traditions. Personally, I believe we must study our history honestly rather than allow politics to define our origins. We may share cultural roots, but identity is also about how a people understand and define themselves.

The fact that you speak somebody's language doesn't mean that you share the same ancestors, IGALA in kogi state, some of their language has the same pronunciation and meaning with Yoruba language but that doesn't make IGALA people a yoruba.in fact, they are not Yoruba. so stop propagating false information.

If you speak Igbo, your great grandfathers bear Igbo names and you worship same Igbo gods and practice similar culture then you are Igbo. There are no 2 ways abt it. Except the person just wan Dey lie to himself. It has nothing to do with trade. Na the person identity be that.
