if culture ever makes you pressures into getting married at an early age or make you feel like you are held back because of your gender, remember this, khadijah bint khuwaylid, prophet Muhammad s.a.w. first wife and the women who we look up to in Islam, she was a businessWOMAN and ran one of the most sucessful trading empires in all of Mecca. She employed men to work FOR her. She did not rush to get married. She was building her career and she knew her worth and did not settle for less, she never made marriage the centre of her entire identity/priority and she got married to the prophet at 40 years old. This is the woman we muslims look up to and set as an example but at the same time women now who holds the same values as her gets shamed. Dont let people people now pressure you into cutural traditions and let you think that what you are doing is wrong. There is nothing wrong in prioritising your career, building your wealth, focusing on your studies/further studies because getting married is not something that should be our main focus and let Khadijahs story remind you of that.

it’s actually so unfortunate. culture can make u resent and blame the religion they keep using against u, that u either lose faith or have to rebuild ur faith from the ground up. it pushes u into a dilemma, and many ppl struggle whether it be consciously or subconsciously because of the narrative that culture pushes. it sucks so so much to have such a beautiful fair religion be so tainted by it’s culture that it suffocates u.

That cultural thinking of "What will people think" makes me speechless nowadays, cuz like why are you trying so hard to have validation from others? I mean, I can finally live my life after understanding that people will never be satisfied cuz well, at the end of the day we're all gonna die anyway😂 so make sure to have lots of provisions for the doomsday, idc if people don't like me at least I have Allah SWT:)

I also really hate when people see a queer muslim and say “you cant be queer and muslim!” Because I don’t ever hear any one say you can’t be a non hijabi and a muslim, or any kind of sin for that matter. Even if it is a sin it doesnt take you out of the folds of islam so just mind your business honestly
