Its all gone too far is why.. abusive teachers ruined “punishment” at school, now schools have little to offer by way of punishment/ consequences. THIS NEEDS A ROYAL COMMISSION.

Schools need to crack down on bullying properly, my kids that have been bullied have been suspended for defending themselves and often my kids have told me teachers don’t do anything at all, I also have one who tried to end her life coz of it, she hasn’t been at all this year

My kid has diagnosed sleep apnoea and low iron levels, it’s documented by specialists so he does a 4 day week. That’s best we can do !

I was so bad w attendance/ truancy lol but I was a victim of CSA fine the ones actively for doing nothing to help their kids.

I have heard this threat for over 50 yrs … there is a reason kids don’t go to school .. many reason …. We don’t need punitive actions we to help the children and families …..

Not with this education system and lack of listening to advocating parents doing the expected job of advocating for their child. Bullying isn’t managed , I’m not sending my child to school to be abused. I went through 9 yrs of hell with education -I’ve a model excited student now never misses school , if only I was listened to in those 9 yrs . it is not the answer to fix this by placing more pressure on families

No it’s not fair, my grandaughter has cerebral palsy & some days she refuses to go to school, because she gets bullied about her condition.

see the issue with school, they teach you to become good little worker bees.They dont really teach you how to get through life's real obstacles, parents should be held responsible if their kids are out committing crimes or being a burden on society 100%. But tbh if my kid has to take a day off because they are not feeling well or they didnt sleep well etc I dont feel I should have to explain that to some office lady at a government funded school 🤷 why was my child away ? , its not their business 😏
