Many of you knew him as Wintergold. When we pulled this sweet boy from the shelter in March, we promised him a chance. After everything he had already been through, we believed there was hope. Our specialist reviewed his X-rays and felt that, with time and growth, surgery might one day be possible. Recently, Yeti went in for follow-up X-rays. The results were heartbreaking. Despite months of medications, monitoring, specialist care, and an incredible team dedicated to keeping him comfortable, Yeti’s condition has continued to progress. After reviewing his latest images, our specialist has determined that surgery is no longer an option. The hardest part is that Yeti doesn't know he's sick. He still greets everyone with a wagging tail. He still wants treats, adventures, belly rubs, and all the love he can get. But behind those bright eyes is a body that is hurting more than it should. Those who know Yeti know how deeply he is loved. He has become family to so many of us. Because we love him, we have to make decisions based on what is best for him—not what is easiest for our hearts. We know that our time with Yeti is precious. Our focus now is making sure every day he has left is filled with comfort, happiness, and love. We want Yeti's days to be filled with everything a dog dreams about—new smells, new places, cheeseburgers, sunshine, and the people who love him.
