Also I’d like to add that if they were to do something bad rn in some shape or form it’ll be minimized by both hoyo & major group of the fandom like how Pierro is seen as a father figure to Paimon when he offered her to the king and neglected her but it’s all okay cuz he covered her with a blanket or whatever… I feel like the whole verse as a whole is morally convenient and it just reflects to Hoyo’s bad writing, not to mention that the traveler’s themselves are hypocrites and that we’re buddies with someone like Liloupar.

Well, yeah. For the plot to progress, Traveler must cooperate with the Fatui, and for them to cooperate with the Fatui, they have to share common values. For their shared values to make sense, the Traveler must also be opposed to the person who openly violated them (Dottore) and was kicked out of the group. So Dottore, being outside their group and doing terrible things, is also our main character's "opponent"= an antagonist. Other Fatui members have done terrible things too, but they are on the same side as the Traveler right now, because that's what the plot demands, and thats why they arent considared antagonists.

well for one dottores plans put all of teyvat at stake; secondly, the other harbingers were at least willing cooperate with traveller; third, the other harbingers crimes were at a smaller scale and most were redeemed or didnt oppose traveller in the first place; fourthly, he was abusive and manipulative towards other fellow harbingers (columbina, sandrone, pantalone, scara) which would make it not as suprising they would turn on him; fifth, no one is excusing the other harbingers actions its just dottores actions are objectively worse and he SPECIFICALLY was the threat, of course he was punished and defeated; sixth, morally corrupt characters are allowed to exist without being punished while others are punished, it just depends on how the story is told; seventh, dottore opposes traveller and fatui, obviously theyre going to oppose him; eighth, they are all antagonists, they all opposed traveller at some point
