Born and raised in Rutland, I would love nothing more than to see our city bounce back. ❤️We need more opportunities, more businesses, and more reasons for both our younger and older generations to want to stay here and be part of our community. It’s heartbreaking to see businesses leave or close. As a local business owner myself, I know firsthand that keeping a business going isn’t always easy, and sometimes the support just isn’t there. If we want Rutland to thrive, we need to create a more business-friendly environment where local businesses can grow, succeed, and bring new opportunities to our city. I’m excited about the possibility of the theater becoming a reality! I truly hope it moves forward, and as a local business owner, we would absolutely support it in any way we can. Rutland has so much potential. I believe we can bring back the energy, create new opportunities, and build a city that people are proud to call home. We need to support one another, invest in our community, and give people a reason to believe in Rutland again. ❤️

use to be a theater in the old mall where home depot is, and movie plex 9 was where planet fitness is for decades, i worked there for many years til the day ut closed, plus there was one in west rutland to

As a Middlebury resident I would love if there was a big theater in Rutland. I currently go to the Essex/williston for movies that Middlebury doesn’t show. But it would be nice to have another choice. Rutland is a little bit closer and there tends to be less traffic in that area so I’d like to be able to see a movie in Rutland if I wanted.

Springfield Cinemas 3 is also great, but an hour away just like the one in Queensbury. We moved here in 2019 and were heartbroken to lose a local theater. It was one of the number one things we'd go out to spend money on. Also it created a HUGE lack of things for teens to do (safely) on their own, especially in the winter months. Bring it back!

Remember the old 2 theater movie theater that was there with Kmart?? I got sick in that theater all over the annoying people talking through the movie during Twins in 88’!! I was 8 and my parents didn’t believe me when I said I didn’t feel well!! They found out the hard way I really was sick!
