@shomitmitter: We are often so eager to teach children what is right that we forget the importance of allowing them to discover things for themselves. There is a world of difference between a child who does something because they have been told to, and one who does it because they have chosen to. Choice invites curiosity. It encourages responsibility. And perhaps most importantly, it gives children a sense of ownership over their own lives. Of course, children need guidance. But guidance need not come at the expense of freedom. The object is not simply to raise children who know how to follow instructions, but children who have learnt how to think, to choose and to trust themselves. Because the dignity of choice is also the dignity of being one's own person. #ParentingWisdom #ConsciousParenting #ChildDevelopment #ParentingWithPurpose #EmotionalIntelligence
