His courage to speak truth to power made him a target for those who hide behind the facade of patriotism. He knew they would kill him. Like other so called journalists in Pakistan, he could have compromised himself and saved his life, but he chose to fight and embraced martyrdom. He was brutally tortured for three hours before being martyred. His elderly mother, with tears in her eyes and hope in her heart, knocked on every door of the Supreme Court begging for justice. But the doors of justice remained shut for her. Today, 4 years have passed. Arshad Sharif is still waiting for justice. His killers roam free, protected by the very system that should punish them. If no court on earth delivers justice for Shaheed Arshad Sharif, remember there is a Court above all courts. In the Court of Allah, there will be no protocol, no power, and no escape. Every oppressor will have to answer.
