🚨 XMIGSTER POLITICS PROJECTION — MISSISSIPPI U.S. SENATE With less than two weeks until Election Day, my latest projection has Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) at 53.47% and Scott Colom (D) at 46.53%, a projected Republican margin of R+6.94. This is a pre-election projection based on my assessment of the race and the overall political environment, not actual election results. My forecast shows Republican incumbent Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith ahead of Democratic challenger Scott Colom as Republicans seek to maintain control of Mississippi’s U.S. Senate seat. Mississippi has historically been a Republican stronghold in federal elections, with Republican candidates consistently winning statewide presidential and Senate contests in recent election cycles. However, the state also has a substantial Democratic voting base, particularly among Black voters and in communities across the Mississippi Delta. Hyde-Smith first entered the U.S. Senate in 2018 and subsequently defeated Democrat Mike Espy in both the 2018 special election runoff and the 2020 general election. In 2020, she won reelection by approximately ten percentage points. My projection suggests Democrats could narrow the Republican advantage in 2026, with Colom receiving more than 46% of the vote. Although this would represent a closer contest than the previous Senate election, Hyde-Smith would still maintain a lead of nearly seven percentage points. With 6.94 percentage points separating the candidates, my forecast suggests Republicans could retain the seat by a smaller margin than in 2020. A Democratic victory would represent a significant statewide upset and could have important implications for the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. 📅 Election Day: November 3, 2026 📊 Projected margin: R+6.94 Could Cindy Hyde-Smith secure another term in the U.S. Senate, or will Scott Colom make Mississippi’s Senate election more competitive than expected? 👀 #Mississippi #MississippiSenate #CindyHydeSmith #ScottColom #MississippiPolitics
