The cop that went down it did it because of complaints that the slide was UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN. They planned to take it down, but it became a tourist attraction for GROWN ADULTS who are well aware that slide is going to spit them out at Mach 20. I get they don't want to be liable for injuries, but no one visiting the cop slide after sunset is unaware of the danger. It's the reason they're there.
