Mrs Hawk-Monitor :
Very, very wise words! I pushed myself for years, was a classic people pleaser, both at work and in my personal life, juggling managing pain from severe osteo arthritis, caring for my elderly mother, and working, quietly hiding how constantly stressed I was, with a smile on my face. Then my life took a drastic turn, and within 3 months, I’d been was diagnosed with autoimmune Graves’ disease, hyperthyroidism, on the verge of a thyroid storm, had knee replacement surgery, swiftly followed by a widow maker heart attack 17 days later, a cardiac arrest, resuscitation, heart surgery and a long recovery. Nowadays, I’m slowly learning to prioritise my own health & wellbeing, to pace myself, say no when I really don’t have the energy for things, be grateful for the little things that I once took for granted, and most of all, to start living as I really want to! In my case, I truly did get a second chance at life, but that’s very rare, and I am super grateful for the lesson learned! ❤️
