people in the comments bruh😭. for a series that highlights how there’s nuance and not everything is black and white, this “fandom” can’t seem to grasp that. portals were opened because wan closed them solely because of vaatu. wan still believed different groups should learn to coexist together, which he stated. korra decided to open the portals because of what wan stated. blaming this on her leaving the spirits portals is so reductive. should we go ahead and blame the lion turtles then? since they decided to give bending to humans? and humans exploit bending? should we just make all humans powerless? if this theory is correct, this does an excellent job at portraying climate change and human greed.
