@itstherespawn: Valve composer Mike Morasky has become the first Valve employee heard saying "HLX" in public, the codename fans have long linked to Half-Life 3. He said it during a GameSoundCon Q&A on October 21 while talking about audio tech, saying Deadlock has its own version of HDR and "HLX has its own version." The panelist next to him reportedly whispered "nice work," and later joked, "Good job, you only said HLX once." HLX has appeared in datamined Valve game files for about two years, and Half-Life: Alyx used the codename HLVR before it was announced. Valve hasn't confirmed what HLX is, so there's still no announcement, trailer, or release date for a new Half-Life game. The last mainline Half-Life game was Episode Two in 2007, and Alyx in 2020 was a VR spin-off. #valve #gaming #halflife #newgame #pcgaming
