Washing the plates is basic dignity in self catering hostels or cottages and if you have a dishwasher no excuse

they'll have to take a returnable deposit then in case of damage etc & the cleaning fee will go up, the customer always pays in the end, simple !

My house- my rules, we don't charge for cleaning so expect our guest to take care of their own washing up, bin waste and strip beds
