@nlakiya: His face said it all. Lionel Messi was sitting at a gala when the screen began showing highlights of his best plays in an Argentina shirt. Goals, dribbles, the captain’s armband on his arm. And there he was, brow relaxed and gaze fixed, like someone watching a movie he already knows by heart. Nothing new to him. But then the video shifted focus. On the screen appeared three children sitting together, wearing white shirts and with the shyness of kids who know their dad is watching them: Thiago, Mateo and Ciro, his sons. That’s when his serious expression broke. Leo’s eyes crinkled, his lips parted, and a huge smile appeared—the kind you don’t rehearse or put on for the camera. After so many titles, records and trophies, the most genuine moment of the night didn’t come with a goal. It came with three kids looking at the camera. It seems the title Messi is proudest of is being a dad 🥹

Imagine Messi sitting down for his final interview, having scored 997 career goals. The interviewer asks: “Leo, you’re just three goals away from 1,000. Why retire now?” Messi smiles and says: “Because I’ve already scored my final three goals. Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.” ❤️Then he walks away. 997 goals on the pitch. Three in life. 1,000 reasons to be proud. That would absolutely break the internet. And somehow, it would be the perfect Messi ending. 🐐
