@dershpiel: Philadelphia Jewish community leader Joseph Glyn is helping children of fallen Israeli soldiers attend college through a $1 million donation from the Landenberger Family Foundation, which he heads. The gift to the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization will establish a permanent scholarship fund. More than a dozen students each year are expected to receive approximately $2,950 each, covering most standard Israeli university tuition. The donation equals two and a half years of the foundation’s usual charitable giving. Glyn said this is a critical moment to support Israel and wanted the money to provide lasting help. According to the organization, more than 1,000 children have lost a parent serving in Israel’s military or security forces since October 7, 2023.
