I can’t tell my whole story in one minute. But if you’re new here, this is a very short version of my journey — and how I got to where I am today. ❤️‍🩹 In 2020, I came terrifyingly close to losing my life. ❤️‍🩹 At the height of my alcohol addiction, I was drinking up to 18–36 half-liter beers a day, or 2–4 litres of vodka. Years of alcohol addiction led to multi-organ failure, a coma, COP (a rare form of pneumonia), lung function reduced to just 11%, and Guillain-Barré syndrome that left me paralysed. I spent months in hospital, fighting for my life. The road back was longer than I ever could have imagined. But this isn’t just a story about what happened to me. It’s about everything that happened after. Six years sober. 97 kg lost. From fighting to survive to building a life I once couldn’t imagine having. I had to learn how to walk again, rebuild my strength, and rediscover who I am without alcohol. I’ve experienced things I wouldn’t wish on anyone, but I’ve also found a purpose in sharing my story and reminding others that there can be a life beyond addiction. I’m not sharing this because my life is perfect. I’m sharing it because I know what it’s like to feel trapped in a life you don’t want anymore, and to struggle to believe that things can ever be different. If you’re still fighting, please don’t give up on yourself. I once thought I would never see the light again. I never imagined I could go from fighting for my life to living a life I genuinely love. You have no idea what your future might hold. 🤍 This is my story. And I’m still here to tell it. #LifeAfterAddiction #Sobriety #RecoveryIsPossible #Survivor #NeverGiveUp
