@londonfitnessguy: Most runners I coach skip strength work for the same reason. They did one big leg day, couldn’t walk properly for three days and wrecked their next run. You don’t need to train like that. Strength for runners should leave you feeling stronger on your next run, not sore. This is a simple run specific workout you can do from home. 1️⃣ Single leg hops 2 x 8 each leg 2️⃣ Lateral skaters 2 x 10 each side 3️⃣ Split squat 3 x 8 each leg 4️⃣ Band hip flexor raise 3 x 12 each leg 5️⃣ ISO Bent knee calf raise: 3 x 15 6️⃣ Banded ankle eversions: 3 x 15 Do it twice a week. Stop each set with a couple of good reps left in the tank. Save this for your next session and send it to a runner 💪
Man it feels so good to have a heavy barbell on your back though… I’ve found heavy weight, low reps, 3 sets, 2x a week, carefully programmed, enables you to avoid the worst of the leg doms and impact on bike & run. Most of the time… [Tears of joy]

Spotless breakdown! Unlocking the thoracic spine is essential for anyone moving heavy weight. Proper soft tissue maintenance is non-negotiable. DMs open if you want to experience the difference for your next training block ⁉️👏♥️
