@lifegoalinvestments: Q4 2018: The S&P 500 fell 13.5%. Q1 2019: It bounced back 13%. Corporate earnings were growing over 20%, but rising inflation, Fed rate hikes, and trade tensions sent stocks tumbling. Then the Fed stopped raising rates, and the market rebounded. Now look at the backdrop heading into Q4 2026. Eerily similar? Don't fight the Fed. HIT FOLLOW. I'll keep you up to date on what to expect out of the Fed before it happens. #StockMarket #FederalReserve #Investing #MarketVolatility Educational purposes only. I do not think this comparison holds. 2018 was caused by needing to dramatically and rapidly raise rates to cover sharp inflation coming from rapid growth in the monetary supply due to worldwide COVID relief. The limited inflation we are seeing right now is resulting from shortages caused by war and also by tarrifs, rather than rampant increase in money supply. The Fed will be tapping the breaks, not pulling over the car.

So do we buy stocks now in this dip, or wait for a bigger dip? Don’t want to miss out on the rally.

Different FED board than 2018. Less talking, less forward guidance/predicting. Warsh and Powell are very different in how they approach the dual mandate.

Comparing the 2018 drop to now is a nice reminder that markets bounce around a lot more than headlines make it feel. Patience is underrated.

so if this really rhymes with 2018, do we get the 13% bounce next quarter too or is that wishful thinking

I remember when they raised rates in December, 2018 and it was a huge mistake! They screwed up big time.

Good reminder from Taylor that a 13.5% drop in Q4 2018 was followed by a 13% bounce, history rhymes but never repeats exactly. Stop by our Discord whenever, the link's in my bio or right here https://discord.gg/SDTrYN6zqT
