@smsu_12: Muhajirs are mainly Urdu-Speaking Muslims and their descendants that migrated from India during the partition in 1947 and primarily settled in urban centres of Sindh such as Karachi and Hyderabad. They migrated from various parts of India such as Delhi, Lucknow, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Goa and Bombay (Mumbai). In 2026, Muhajirs make up 9.25% of Pakistans population forming the country’s 5th largest ethnic and linguistic group. Muhajirs play a humongous role in shaping modern pakistani identity and culture and many other factors. Urdu as the official language, food influences, Awadhi and North Indian culture like Farshi Shalwars, Sharara, Gharara, Pishwas, different North Indian jewellery, Nawabi Turbans and Sherwanis, Khada Dupatta, Karakul Topi and much more influencing and shaping Pakistani Cultural Heritage. #muhajir #pakistaniculture #pakistani #urdu #indian

thank you for mentioning us. Muhajirs rarely get credit for their achievements, all we get is insults from others even though Urdu is literally our language, we created Pakistan flag and even nuclear bomb

I'm not discrediting Muhajirs whatsoever, and they have contributed significantly to Pakistan, but most of the traditions shown in this video aren't NECESSARILY "Muhajir". Most of them are native to or have already been worn for centuries in the land that is now Pakistan. Again, obviously Muhajirs have contributed significantly to ethnic attires and foods of Pakistan, but this video is extremely inaccurate.

Many of these actors are Pakistani, the fashion is Punjabi, Balochi, northern Pakistani or modern Pakistani since you don’t even see this style in India

East Punjabis that migrated to West Punjab aren’t really Muhajirs, ik I added them in the poll but I was just wondering peoples heritage, also they aren’t Muhajir because they’re still in Punjab and they didn’t migrate outside of it, they assimilated into Lehnda Punjabi Culture

I was born in Aligarh, UP, India 🇮🇳 and I’ve also got some family in Pakistan too. I didn’t realise that muhajirs would preserve our Indian culture there ❤️

Muslim Mughal culture that they first brought from Persia, lived in India during Mughal empire and British Taj, and than moved to Pakistan. It’s not “Indian” culture and most muhajirs also aren’t aasi/genetically Indian.
