@iambeautymarked: **What if your insecurity, perfectionism, and fear of judgment are keeping you more focused on yourself than you realize?** Baby, this thought had me questioning some shit today. Because I grew up learning that being selfish was wrong. Be helpful. Be considerate. Put other people first. Don't make everything about you. But somewhere along the way, I also became the perfectionist, the fixer, the overthinker, and the woman who was terrified of getting shit wrong. And now I'm questioning something. **How much of my life have I spent worrying about what people think of ME instead of focusing on what I'm actually here to DO?** Think about it. You won't post the content because somebody might think you're stupid. You won't start the business because somebody might watch you fail. You won't ask the question because somebody might think you don't know enough. You won't tell somebody how you really feel because they might reject you. And now your entire decision-making process revolves around one question: **“But what are they going to think about me?”** Here's the part that challenged me. Sometimes what looks like perfectionism, people pleasing, or self-doubt is actually an attempt to protect ourselves from embarrassment, criticism, or rejection. And while that protection may have served a purpose at one point, it can also keep us from doing the very things we say we want to do. **You can spend so much time protecting your image that you never give yourself a chance to build your life.** That's why identity repair isn't just about understanding who you had to become to survive. It's also about questioning whether those old survival behaviors are still making your decisions. Because what if the goal isn't to stop caring what people think? **What if the goal is to stop making their opinions more important than your purpose?** Post the content. Start the business. Ask the question. Make the imperfect decision. Let somebody misunderstand you. Because you cannot build a life around making sure nobody ever has a negative opinion of you. Now here's what I really want to know: **Do you think insecurity can make someone self-centered, or do you think it's simply a form of self-protection?** Because I think there's a difference, and I want to hear your perspective. #Insecurity #Perfectionism #FearOfJudgment #SelfSabotage #IdentityRepair
