@new.roundup: Chappell Roan Brings Out Christina Aguilera for a Surprise L.A. Performance and Calls Her a Trailblazer Chappell Roan had a surprise waiting for fans in Los Angeles. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, Christina Aguilera joined her on stage at the Shrine Auditorium. It was part of Roan’s Super Graphic Spectacular concert. Before Aguilera came out, Roan paid tribute to her. According to Billboard, Roan said Aguilera “honestly paved the way for me and all women in pop.” She also called her “a f---ing legend.” The two hugged on stage. Then Aguilera, 45, praised Roan. She said, “From the moment I heard Chappell’s voice, I knew she was a force to be reckoned with.” Midway through the set, Aguilera sang her 2002 hit “Beautiful,” according to fan-captured TikTok footage. Then the pair sang Roan’s song “Coffee” together. Aguilera called it “one of my favorite songs of hers,” per the same footage. Roan, 28, also performed a version of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Expectations,” according to Setlist.fm. The two released a remix of that track last week. Lola Young, Tinashe, Amanda Lepore, Blaine Petrovia, and Kyra Jeté also appeared at the concert. The Super Graphic Spectacular wraps up Thursday, Oct. 22. All proceeds go to Roan’s Midwest Princess Project, which benefits trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities.
