My 1st (now 22) was born with a bilirubin count of 20, so she was formula until her counts came down...and then she didn't want to work for food. My 2nd (now 15) was born 10lbs 5.5oz and 24in long ..and he came OUT THE GATE eating 6oz every feeding...so he got supplemented because I had no other choice.

We had to give my second formula because she wasn’t gaining. I decided to give her a bottle of formula instead of nursing her, at the “bedtime feed” at 9 pm and I would get a nice stretch of 4-5 hours of sleep. That bottle alone helped her gain weight and I would nurse the rest of the time.

Yessss! My view is formula has benefits that breastfeeding does not and breastfeeding has benefits that formula does not. Why not do best of both worlds if you can

I exclusively pumped with my first and it was brutal, this time I’m nursing and pumping and it’s so much easier somehow. She can get fed by her dad and I can sleep more. I’m not so scared of my supply this time, second time is so different!

Combo feeding is absolutely elite!! I’ve been exclusively pumping and formula feeding from the get-go. Just like you said, the stress free mindset has probably helped me produce more. Dad gets involved with feeding, I’m able to be more present with my toddler AND newborn. Chefs kiss✨

My first I breast fed for 4 months until I had a mental breakdown. My second I went straight to formula. My husband says me postpartum are night and day. And that he was so worried for me the first time around 🥺

amen! I STRUGGLED with mentally not having great milk supply. Formula supplementing was great, I just mentally needed to get in my head that it was fine to start sooner than I did.

I pumped for two years. Next time, I am 100% combo feeding. She stayed on the growth curve. But I was stressed for a solid year. 😐
