You guys can argue all you want about this, but as an officer myself, if someone shoplifts with their child. I’ll get the plates, pictures, etc, and try to stop them from leaving. But I would not stand in front of their car or engage in any kind of chase for such a low level crime. If she committed a violent crime? Absolutely changes things.
