@whatsdianereadingmeow: 📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The French Illusion Pages: 338 Genre: Mysteries & Thriller Release Date: September 29, 2026 Paul and Chelsea just had their dream wedding and now they’re on their dream honeymoon in Paris. Everything is better than perfect until they’re suddenly kidnapped and held for ransom. The kidnappers want $2 million each. Chelsea’s wealthy parents pay up immediately and bring her home. But Paul is held for longer and tortured. We soon find out that they’re the third couple this has happened to, and in each case, the women are returned but the men continue to be held hostage and tortured. Why? Who’s doing this? What are they really after? This has all the key elements of a juicy Grisham thriller. While I didn’t care for the repetitive waterboarding torture scenes, I’m grateful we were spared any torture on the women. I was also a little disappointed with the ending, but overall, it was a good thriller that kept me going throughout. Thank you, @DoubledayBooks, for my free book.
