@theopenposturedoc: Yes, this is a little tongue in cheek. But I mean it. Also, I know i'm still not great at this okay? I'm just a white girl don't hate on me lol. Being able to shake your bum isn’t just a party trick, it’s a sign your pelvic floor isn't too tight. And that matters way more than anyone tells you, because most of the pelvic floor issues I see aren’t from weakness. They’re from a pelvic floor that’s clenched so tight it never gets to act like the trampoline it was made to be. I couldn’t do this at all for most of my life. I was too gripped, too braced, and honestly I had no bum to move in the first place. It wasn’t until I learned to get my thigh bones back, lift my glutes and soften through my whole pelvis that any of this became possible. You also have to learn how to load your pelvic floor less by not "engaging" your core backwards and learning to expand your ribcage. So no, this isn’t really about dancing. It’s about having a body that has muscles with the right tone and alive enough that it can. Join REVIVAL and come work on this with me. You'll start with the foundations and next month is HEAL YOUR PELVIC FLOOR month so you'll want to be ready for that <3 You are a connected web, loves!
