"Other Desert Cities" is a thought-provoking piece of theater as well as a star…star…star studded show! If anything, you’re coming to watch Julia ‘YES’ Louis-Dreyfus in her Broadway debut, Ed ‘Friggin’ Harris, and Allison ‘OMG’ Janney! And although they shined as you expected they would, the breakout star was Lily Rabe who plays Brooke and she was uh-mazing! I’m not a reviewer, I don’t claim to be, but I’ll try to give you a breakdown of what to expect. It’s Christmas Eve, 2004, Palm Springs. Polly (Julia) and Lyman (Ed) both politically charged parents (on the wrong side of the spectrum if you ask me) have their two children visit, Brooke a liberal minded book writer (Lily), and the youngest son Trip (Joe Keery). Yadda yadda yadda… Silda (Allison), Polly’s sister fresh out of rehab and something of a fourth child to her, adds to the comedic goldmine….blah blah blah…Lily plans to publish a memoir that will expose all of their families’ dark secrets and chaos ensues! It’s an absolute beast of a production, Other Desert Cities argues that some family stories demand to be told. I’ll leave it at that. This clip is just a quick glimpse of their inner workings and some of the aftermath. Y'all need to go see this for yourself at the Hudson Theatre through January 17th 2027. This was a preview showing and I expect a few Tony noms. FDT HARD 💙 #foryoupage #broadway #otherdesertcities #julialouisdreyfus #lilyrabe
