I’m 57 and make more money than I ever have. I also can barely afford rent. Will never own a home and share a car with my daughter. The working poor is growing by the minute. We need change!

also I think many of us grew up with the "keep up with the Jones's" mentality of our parents and being poor and desperate all while living 4 blocks away from wealthy people that have a "dream life" and having so much wealth thrown in our faces and no chance of having it for ourselves hits differently than living in a "third world country" ( not trying to say I have it worse, but I think it's an important distinction ) 💚

I'm a single mom with a disabled kid. The only income is my son's SSI because I care for him full time. There is no compensation for me, and SSI limits what I can buy. My husband was financially abusive, and now I'm back in the same control he had me under. I can't have anything for myself. And under this administration money is getting tighter and tighter every month with less left in the bank after expenses. I had to have my car salvaged because it broke down and I couldn't afford to fix it, and there's no public transportation. Living like this is traumatizing. I've been in abusive relationships, this feels like that, but it's my government instead of a man.

So many places around the world are stricken with poverty because of war, famine, or a lack of resources. The US allows a large chunk of their population to live in poverty for no real reason than a small percentage increase in a billionaires net worth

I watch the show Alone. Every season there is a grown man or woman (often more than one) saying they can live off the land because they grew up in one of the states without water or heat or power. They hunted and foraged for food. Every season.
