@jotxir: "My enemies wrote that I was a monster. My soldiers wrote that I knew their names." At Laffrey a royal regiment was drawn up across the road with muskets levelled to end him. He told his own men to keep their weapons down, walked out alone into the gap, opened his grey coat and said that if any of them wished to kill their emperor, here he was. An officer shouted the order to fire. Nobody fired. The line broke, and the men sent to stop him marched behind him to Paris. Two records are always being kept on you. One is written at a distance by people who need you to be simple. The other is written up close by the few who have watched how you behave when it costs you something. You do not control the first. You build the second every ordinary day, in small amounts. Tonight, use one person's name in a sentence where you did not have to. Say it to their face. History argues about a man; the men who stood beside him do not. #alexanderthegreat #genghiskhan #conqueror #creatorsearchinsights #motivationalandinspirationalvideos
