I think he wasn't really a bad person. He kinda took revenge but in questionable ways. The kill toward the end without spoilers if u know what im saying was very unnecessary and that's when he took it too far

I feel like you have misunderstood the movie. You feel bad for him; you are supposed to feel bad for him, at least at the start. Even after the first accidental murder you can still root for him. After all he is taking revenge on people who have betrayed him & we have plenty of protagonists who do so yet still get called a good guy. You know he is a villain so you just wait for him to go "too far", which ofc he does by killing the cop fiancé. Pretty fun but very predictable movie

A truly empathetic individual would’ve naturally felt sorry for him. He took it too far yes, but that doesn’t mean we can’t feel sorry for the guy to a point.
