Granite that you were saying don’t use AI mockups my designs in itself that I use on my AI markup are real I input that design and tell them the type of AI mock up I want with my design on it so how is that wrong if they’re using my design that I created and then told AI to create a certain type of mock up because I want my mock ups to match the audience that I’m reaching

totally agree, thank you so much for this video! As a sewing pattern designer, I’ve honestly lost all hope. I spend months working on my patterns and testing them, and they barely get any visibility anymore. Meanwhile, I see copies of my designs made with AI selling for pennies and becoming bestsellers. It’s so frustrating, especially when you know how much work goes into creating a proper pattern. I really hope Etsy’s new ban actually makes a difference and gets rid of these accounts!

The part about serving a community first really landed for me. If someone buys instructions and they don't work, that's real time and money they lost. Appreciate you saying the mockup rule out loud too, so many people still think it's new.

They need to clear out the AI accounts that are “Etsy Witches”. I have zero issues with witchcraft (my mom was in a coven), I have an issue with people paying good money who are desperate for a job and they get a photo of fake AI generated tarot cards. It’s awful. Not saying that too seller is fake, her stuff looks 100% real.

Do I have an Etsy account? No. Do I sell stuff? Also no. Do I imagine this is the same as the feeling I get when I see AI recipes with the 4 photos to show the “process” and it’s clearly AI? Absolutely. If you are posting a recipe, actually make it and take pictures of your food!
