@kendraworth: "I'm not touching you! I’m not touching you!” 🙄 If you have more than one kid, you know this game In the moment, my only goal is to stop it. I'm not teaching anything mid-meltdown, because nobody's brain is ready to listen when they're that worked up. Later in the day, once everyone's calm, I sit down with both of them, the one who was doing it and the one who was receiving it. We talk about what happened, why it was annoying/disrespectful, and why we're not going to do it anymore. And I always connect before I correct. I'll snuggle up, get on their level, and keep it light and warm. It's a conversation, not a lecture and my goal is for them to actually hear me, not tune me out. And as much as the internet likes to say that gentle parenting doesn’t work and these conversations are useless, it actually worked perfectly! This video is from 3 months ago, and they haven't done it since Make sure to follow me @kendraworth for all things REAL gentle parenting & no-tears sleep training. I can’t imagine how much of a difference this could have made in the relationship I had with my sibling growing up. No one ever said anything to us but “STOP FIGHTING”. We hated each other because all we did was disrespect each other’s space and feelings. I wish someone had talked to us like this.

Gentle parenting is teaching kids how to respect each other through respecting them. Great job explaining and being patient with them mama!

@Kendra | baby & toddler expert hello! I have a question :) we start bedtime routine with my almost 2 year old at 8. She has bath, pjs, stories then sleep. She is asleep by 8:30-8:45 pm. She typically has 1 wake up lately. It’s around 2-2:30 every night. Most nights she wakes up screaming and it takes almost an hour to just pat her back to sleep. She becomes inconsolable and idk what to do anymore. Any tips???
