I remember looking at you and imagining all the birthdays, little moments, and memories we would share as you grew. This year has taught me that life doesn’t always unfold the way we pictured it. Sometimes the people who once dreamed of building a life together end up living separate lives. And sometimes a father has to carry the ache of missing moments he wishes he could be there for. I won’t put that weight on you, my son. You deserve to grow up surrounded by love, free to be a child, and never caught in the middle of grown-up pain. So today, I want you to know this: my love for you has never depended on where I am, how much time I get, or what life looks like between the adults around you. I am your dad. I will keep showing up, keep loving you, and keep doing everything I can to be present in your life. You will never have to wonder whether you matter to me. You do more than I could ever fit into words. You are not the reason life changed. You are one of the most beautiful reasons I keep trying to grow through it. I hope one day you look back and see a father who loved you through every season, who kept fighting to be there, and who never let a hard chapter change how deeply he cherished you.
