And not only that, the nations where most black Americans ancestors come from in west Africa are mostly Muslim nation. Most of those nations are between 60-95% Muslim today. Those people didn’t just become Muslim in the last 2-3 centuries. The slaves that came over were not Christian. They were Muslim or maintained their tribal faiths and were beat into submission to other faith systems..

Coming from a lover of religious studies, a lot of people's hatred for religion prevents them from sufficiently critiquing religious traditions, because they'll inherently have a conclusion, then only look for evidence and critiques that support their conclusions, rather than bracketing their beliefs from their research and letting the data and evidence guide them to as unbiased a conclusion as possible. In order to truly understand and critique a society, you must learn how to critique its religion.

The 30% that you’re referring to is an estimate based on documents, letters, and census that were actually recovered. Meaning there’s a higher probability that it’s higher. The West Africans who were Muslims who went to the tropics is likely higher than the 30%. Subhanallah. The Muslims who came here accepted Christianity to preserve our their life while others (as well as other practitioners) died with their beliefs. There’s literally books about this topic, that I wish our people would read and even how Islam came to Africa because it wasn’t slavery like how they like to suggest.

Boukman was a spiritualist, man had a whole Ceremony in the woods & sacrificed animals at said event…… I’m confused here because Boukman didn’t start the revolution he was behind the unification of the rebels who were fighting each other. He unified them at said ceremony by showing them they had spirits in common as well as enemies.
