@farmergracy: To create this display, we planted these varieties last autumn: - Tulip ‘Brasil’ (20cm deep) - Tulip ‘Rosy Diamond’ (20cm deep) - Hyacinth ‘Johanna’ (15cm deep) - Hyacinth ‘Woodstock’ (15cm deep) - Muscari ‘Grape Ice’ (10cm deep) - Iris ‘Clairette’ (5cm deep) - Crocus ‘Ruby Giant’ (5cm deep) The reason ‘bulb lasagnes’ are planted in layers is because larger bulbs need to be planted deeper than smaller bulbs. We go by the general rule of planting 2-3 times as deep as the size of the bulb. If you have a large pot (40cm+), you can plant lots of layers like this. You can also plant combinations in smaller pots using fewer bulbs and just two or three layers.
