@jeff_stoic77: #Repost In 1955 a naval historian named C. Northcote Parkinson published a table in The Economist. 1914: 62 capital ships, 2,000 Admiralty officials. 1928: 20 capital ships, 3,569 Admiralty officials. Ships down two thirds. Officials up 78%. His point: an office grows on its own schedule, whatever the workload does. That essay gave us Parkinson’s Law. Slide 3 is the same gap with a hospital in it. The work and the payroll don’t move together. So where does pay come from? Three places. You own a piece of what other people build (slide 2). You sell your time (slide 4). Or you set the price (slide 5). School trains you for the second one and calls it a career. Which one covers your rent right now? Be honest in the comments. Send slide 1 to the friend who just started their first real job. Somebody should warn them. Let’s succeed together
