I think that maybe Alix is Val’s Milo…. Just like Alfonso said about Whitney, that season broke her a little bc she gave it her all and came in second.. I think Alix got really close to both Jenna and Val and that he really gave it his all. Fans loved them, they had so much support and to come in second after all that emotional bond and hard work, I think it really hurt him maybe. So he’s perhaps trying to distance himself as self-defense. 🤷🏼♀️🥺

Maybe she’s been harder to work with because she’s a dancer so he’s frustrated. With no dancers. He can coach then but already being in the industry maybe she feels like she’s doesn’t have to be coached

I saw someone say that Jenna is more intense like Val which makes it look like they’re competing against each other whereas Alix was softer and that matched better with Val’s intensity

Alix was going through a lot plus she is a lot younger than him and not a profesional dancer, so Val saw her as a baby he needed to take care of. Jenna is a grown woman and is a professional so Val sees her as equal/competition

People acted online like they were into each other romantically in beginning of season so I think he pulled back out of respect for his Jenna, esp with things like how he looks at Dewan in interviews and physically interacts with her in general now. And I know it happens a lot of seasons people say that stuff but this one felt different with her looking so much like his Jenna and the hand holding, etc. but I agree the vibes are off in these dances this season I think he is too worried what people think of his relationship this season and Dewan is getting the disadvantage

idk about you guys but I feel like he never lets Jenna shine… when she danced with Alan I was in awe the whole time because he lets her shine!! This whole season I never really felt any emotion for Jenna d and val and I thought it was maybe her but after seeing her dance with alan and feeling so emotional for her dance, it was def a Val issue

This is largely an assumption but I wonder if he knows he’s not going to win this year so he’s not as locked in or “in it”. With Alix he had a pretty strong chance, and you can tell he was putting in the work to try and make it happen.
